Before your appointment
- Clear safe access to the attic hatch, electrical panel, water heater, and air handler.
- Look for leaks under sinks and water stains on ceilings. Tell your inspector about known problems.
- Gather roof permits, invoices, re-pipe or rewire records, and window or shutter product labels.
- Arrange access with your agent or a family member if you cannot attend.
- Leave electrical hazards and other dangerous repairs to qualified professionals. Never remove panel covers yourself.
